It all started from the age of 12 onwards helping with the lighting at school, church youth group and mobile discos.
SLX employment since Oct 1979 to date – Proud to be employee number 1.
My primary role is transport management and event logistics but I also get to work as a theatre & TV lighting tech too.
I think it offers a great opportunity for personal development within our industry.
Never be too important to sweep the floor or make the tea.

I was always drawn to events but did also consider the family furniture business.
Outside of SLX I spend time on my motorcycles, canalboat, Volkswagen camper and walking the dog.
Dream production is working on the illuminated trains project which I have been able to do at SLX for the last few years. Trains, Lights and Trucks, doesn’t get any better!
Taking Maurice Marshal and the team to Buckingham Palace for Maurice to receive his MBE. Such a good day.
Many moons ago in my theatre days my heart stopping moment was when a Patt793 Followspot nearly fell from the FOH Lighting Slot....
I managed to stop it by grabbing its mains tail, until help arrived..Phew.
