Our desire to support young talent within theatre & events is central to our values. You may have heard of our ‘Student Bursary’ – a scheme which saw a number of technical students provided with equipment for creative projects, along with mentorship and networking opportunities each year. We recognised that the key value in this programme was the mentorship, access to specialist knowledge, experience of working directly with a hire company and a network that we could introduce individuals too.
We want to continue to build positive networks and opportunities for up-and-coming talent, lighting the way for those looking to build careers in our industry. That is where The Lighting Programme comes in.
Students successful in making it onto The Lighting Programme will find a wealth of knowledge and support from the entire SLX team, with the project led by SLX’s Business Development Manager, Ruari Cormack and Sales Team Manager Katy Lowe. Both Katy and Ruari are incredibly well connected in the industry, with years of experience working in the field in a variety of roles and over many disciplines. This experience means they are exceptionally well placed to now be supplying theatre, broadcast, and live events.
