We’re proud to support the next generation of lighting professionals through our Lighting Programme. As part of our 24/25 cohort, Ben Lucas recently delivered an expressive and technically ambitious lighting design for Love and Information.
A fast-paced, multi-scene production, Love and Information challenges designers to respond quickly to emotional shifts, abstract ideas, and fragmented storytelling. Ben met this brief with a bold and intelligent design, using lighting to shape the narrative and guide the audience through dozens of scenes and moments.
Through our Lighting Programme, Ben had access to a powerful suite of fixtures, including Ayrton Eurus, Nandobeam, ETC Colorsource Profiles, and ChromaQ Color Force 72. This allowed him to explore dynamic colour palettes, sharp contrast, and striking transitions, all with the reliability and flexibility of professional-grade equipment.
Captured by photographer Craig Fuller, the final design was visually rich, atmospheric, and deeply in tune with the production’s emotional range.
Supporting Ben on this project reflects the heart of our Lighting Programme, offering hands-on access to industry tools, expert advice, and space to experiment and grow as a designer.
